When the seventh hourThe Humla district, with Simikot as its capital, is located in Karnali Province, the seventh and biggest province of Nepal. The majority of the hiking path to Tibet starts in Simikot.
One of Nepal's biggest districts, Humla has an area of 5655 square kilometers. The population is quite small in comparison to its size. Buddhists predominate in the northern section of Humla, whereas Hindus predominate in the southern half. Here, you may find a number of communities of Tibetan ancestry. Given that Humla and Tibet share a border to the north, there are numerous parallels between the two.
